Four Royals Receive Women's Basketball NCCAA Honours

ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer Royals women's basketball program is celebrating a strong showing off and on the court, as four student-athletes earned recognition from the NCCAA for their achievements this season.

Leading the way academically, Talia Vreugdenhil and Abigail Hoogland were both named NCCAA Scholar Athletes. The honour recognizes student-athletes who excel in the classroom while competing at a high level, highlighting their commitment to balancing academics and athletics.

On the court, Vreugdenhil also earned Midwest Region Second Team honours, joined by teammate Sydney Lazenby. The pair were key contributors for the Royals this season, consistently making an impact with their scoring, leadership, and all-around play.

Rounding out the list of honourees, Sophia Van Raalte was named an NCCAA Midwest Region Honourable Mention, recognizing her strong performance and presence throughout the season.

The recognition of these four athletes reflects the continued growth and success of the Royals program, showcasing a group that is committed to excellence both in competition and in the classroom.
