DeGroot played for the Redeemer women's soccer team from 2003-2007, playing in 31 career games where she registered nine career goals ranking her 5th all-time in school history. She led the team in scoring in 2005-06.
DeGroot was a three-time OCAA women's soccer All-Star (2004, 2005, 2006) a two time OCAA All-Academic and CCAA Academic All-Canadian (2005-06, 2006-07). She was also named Team MVP (2005-06) and was a two-time indoor soccer Team MVP (2005-06, 2006-07). In 2005-06 she also received the Redeemer Scholar Athlete of the Year Award.
