90th MInute Goal Pushes Royals to 3-0

It took a 90th minute goal from 3rd year April Passchier, but the Royals kept their streak alive and finished the week with a perfect 3-0 record. The win, 1-0 win over St. Clair College, capped off 3 games in 5 days for the Lady Royals in which the team has not lost yet at home and is yet to even concede a goal. With the win, Shawna Druif recorded her 3rd clean sheet in a row.

Other wins from the Lady Royals earlier in the week included a 3-0 win over Niagara College in the home opener and a 2-0 win on Friday evening over Lambton College.

Saturday's match was certainly the toughest to this point for Redeemer but a rally in the last 20 minutes of the game backed by the packed house of fans saw the Royals gain momentum and eventually capitalize after numerous scoring chances.

On Friday, the Royals had little trouble controlling the play against Lambton College but had difficulty capitalizing on scoring chances. Leesha DeWeerd broke the tie in the 43rd minute putting the Royals up 1-0 and then added another just 4 minutes later providing the team with all the offense they would need in a 2-0 win.

The competition heats up for the Royals as they are on the road this week for two tough games as they face the #1 ranked Humber Hawks on Wednesday and Conestoga College on Friday.
