The Royals closed out the first half with an important win on the road against the Lambton Lions. The win, helps the Men's Basketball team keep pace with the rest of the West as they jockey for playoff spots. The Royals enter the Christmas Break outside of a playoff spot but have played 2 less games than St. Clair, who sits 2 points above them in the standings.
The Mohawk Mountaineers also sit 2 points above Redeemer in the standing but have played 1 additional game.
The Royals will need to put in solid efforts next semester against both the Saints and Mountaineers to put them in a strong position to advance to the playoffs. The Fanshawe Falcons also sit above Redeemer in the standings despite being blown-out by the Royals on November 19th.
Redeemer's
Rayvon Higdon had a game high 33 points on Tuesday night in the win against the Lions and continues to lead the association in points per game. Higdon has scored over 20 points in every game this season except for the season opener against the top ranked Sheridan Bruins.
A spot in the playoffs this season would be Redeemer's 2nd time in program history. After making a crossover playoff match 2 seasons ago, the Royals will look to get past last years disappointing miss and compete next semester for a chance to advance to the OCAA Provincial Championship.
