ANCASTER, ON - Redeemer Royals Men's Basketball has added guard Carter DeJonge to the RU Royal Family, bringing a versatile backcourt presence to the program.

A native of Lynden, ON DeJonge joins the Royals after graduating from Hamilton District Christian High School. He spent eight years playing rep basketball with the Brantford Hawks while also competing for his school's senior basketball team for three years.

During his high school career, DeJonge helped his team reach the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) championship in Grade 10. DeJonge has also been recognized as a Hamilton City All-Star.

Now, DeJonge is looking forward to continuing his basketball career at Redeemer while becoming part of the Royals community.

"The community and Christian environment" is what excites DeJonge most about joining the Royal Family.

As he begins his time at Redeemer, DeJonge also sees his faith as an important part of his experience as a student-athlete.

"I will work hard and honour God in everything I do."

DeJonge's combination of experience with the Brantford Hawks and high school basketball will add depth to the Royals' backcourt as he prepares for his first season in the Royals Red and Navy.
