The Redeemer Royals Women's Soccer team was able to hold off the surging Saint Clair Saints on Friday night for 80 minutes before running out of steam. Shorthanded due to injury, the Royals held the 4-1-1 Saints off as long as they could before conceding 4 late goals in the final 10 minutes.
The Saints opened up the scoring in the 63rd minute and Redeemer answered immediately when Serena DeJong netted her first of the season one minute later. However, back-to-back goals by the visitors in the 81st and 82nd minute was enough to put the game out of reach for Redeemer.
The Royals will play their final home game of the season on Thursday night when they host the Lambton Lions starting at 6pm. The Royals will then head out on the road for three straight matches to finish up the 2017 outdoor season.
