ANCASTER, ON - Redeemer Cross-Country celebrated their graduating athletes at the Royals Atheltic Banquet. Three Royals leave the program following incredible careers. The trio includes
Thea Van Halteren,
Zach Braam and
Ethan Kruisselbrink.
Ethan Kruisselbrink will leave Redeemer as one of the most accomplished runners in Royals Cross-country history. The Cross-country superstar is a three-time OCAA all-star, the 2023-24 Redeemer Male Athlete of the Year, and the first male NCCAA All-American in Royals history. In Kruisselbrink's last race for Redeemer, he claimed third place at the NCCAA National Championships.Â
Thea Van Halteren joined the Royals in 2021 and has been a key member of Royals Cross-country ever since. The two-time OCAA All-Star capped off her Royals career becoming the first Royal to be named an All-American thanks to her stellar performance at the NCCAA National Championships.
Zach Braam joined the Royals in 2022. Since joining, Braam has been an integral member of the Men's cross-country. This past season Zach finished his Royals career with a 14th place finish at the NCCAA National championships. Beyond his running success, Zach has been a phenomenal leader for Royals Cross Country, last season Zach was awarded the Cross Country Vertical Purpose Award.
Redeemer Athletics is thankful for these graduating athletes' involvement with Royals country-country. The positive impact they have had on Redeemer and its athletic programs has not gone unnoticed.
