ANCASER, ON - Mateo Mihalj is set to join the Redeemer Royals men's soccer program for the upcoming season.

A fullback from London, ON, Mihalj brings years of high-level experience and leadership to the Royals after developing with Alliance FC. During his eight years with the club, he helped capture multiple tournament championships across the United States and earned an Ontario Cup title, experiences that shaped both his game and character.

Mihalj also made a strong impact at Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School, where he competed on the varsity soccer team throughout all four years of high school. His dedication and performances earned him the team's MVP award.

Now preparing for the next chapter of his athletic and academic career, Mihalj is looking forward to competing alongside teammates who share the same faith-centred values.

"I'm excited to be able to play my favourite sport alongside my other brothers in Christ," said Mihalj.

Beyond the pitch, Mihalj hopes to use his faith to positively influence the Redeemer community and team culture.

"I will use my faith as a foundation for servant leadership, using every practice and game as an act of worship to glorify God rather than myself," he shared. "By showing Christ's character through encouragement, I aim to foster a team culture that prioritizes spiritual growth alongside athletic success."

The Royals are excited to welcome Mihalj to Redeemer and look forward to the impact he will make both on and off the field.
